True Freedom

“...for you can only be free when even the desire of seeking freedom becomes a harness to you, and when you cease to speak of freedom as a goal and a fulfillment.” -Kahlil Gibran

The poem above resonates with me, as freedom to me, is an internal phenomenon, rather than an external one. How to reach freedom, true freedom? For one, through pure honesty. Not necessarily with others, but with oneself. Forgiving oneself for our shortcomings and finally, accepting that we all are work in progress. That’s what makes me feel free, as it allows me to accept others as they are too.


The photo above is from the Heidelberg Castle, Frankfurt, Germany...from 2018 trip

There was a certain nostalgia and magic present in this castle that was a apothecary at some point in time. The first parts of the castle were constructed around 1300, but it wasn't before Prince Elector Ruprecht III (1398 – 1410) that the castle was used as a regal residence. Until it was destroyed by lightning in 1764 leaving it permanently uninhabitable, (Source: Google)
