This is a photo we were looking at in one of my data modeling classes. Yes, it’s our brain! We were discussing how millions of data points can be registered on a data set when our nervous system functions.
You may ask what’s so special about this photo. Well, when I squint my eyes, I see a red-haired person bowing down. It made me wonder why do I see that? Is it just me? Or others can see it too? Then, my imagination ran wild. Is our brain bowing down to our heart? Is our heart truly what commands the brain? What a quirky idea! Isn’t it fun to put on a different lens every time we look at something? With zero preconceived ideas? Can you imagine if we all looked at every aspect of life from a fresh perspective?
That’s why I love the poem by Sohrab Sepehri who says:
Let’s wash our eyes
So we can see differently
Let’s close our umbrellas
And run under the rain
Let’s take our mind and memories under the rain
Let’s go in the rain with all the people of the town
Friends must be seen in the rain
Love must be sought under the rain
Wherever I go
The sky is mine!
